I I JANUARY 4, 2005 LOCAL OBITUARIES ROSENSWEET, Gladys E. 92, of Zanesville, died at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville. She was born April 25, 1912, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Stewart and Florence Moore. She was a member of the Beth Abraham Synagogue.

She had worked with her late husband Albert at Lee Jewelers, had been a seamstress and had worked as a telephone operator in Portsmouth. Surviving are two nephews, Norman "Sonny" Moore of Florida and David Moore of Michigan, two nieces, Anna Biggs and Mary Ann Swords, both bin Portsmouth. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rosensweet, who died March 29, 1996. Funeral services will be. held at 1:30 p.m.

(Derksen) 86, formerly of Dayton, Beaver- creek, and Lakeview passed away on Sunday, January 02, 2005 at 9:25 am, in Good Shepherd Village, Springfield. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on July 27, 1918, the daughter of the late Peter and Antje (Mooy) Derksen.

Mrs. Scott was a 1937 graduate of Saint Paris High School and a 1942 graduate of Miami University, Oxford with a Bachelor of Science degree in Math, English, and Home Economics. On August 15, 1943, Jennie married Asa Clem Scott. He passed away on February 21, 1954. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Peter Derksen and three sisters, Nellie (Derksen) Barlow, Vrouke (Derksen) Moore and infant, Anna Derksen.

Jennie retired employee of the uniteda States Postal Service, Dayton. She resided in the Dayton area for most of her life and was an active volunteer for Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts of America. She was a former member of both the Residence Park E.U.B. Church, Dayton and the Aley United Methodist Church, Beavercreek. Survivors include a daughter, Beatrice Kaye (David Lance) Belville of Cartersville, Georgia; a SOR, William Eric (Sharon) Scott of Beavercreek; three grandchildren, Robert (Kathryn) Belville of Cartersville, Georgia, Robyn (Jamie) Costlow of Taylorsville, Georgia, and Jeremy Scott of Dayton; four great-grandchildren, Lucy and Melissa Costlow of Taylorsville, Georgia, Carson Belville of Cartersville, Georgia, and Riley Scott of Dayton; two brothers, Hendrick (Marilyn) Derksen (Jeanne) Derksen, both of Huber Heights; two sisters, Elizabeth (Donald) Moore of Logan and Rosalie Winhold of Greenville; forty nieces and nephews; and many grand nieces and grand nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 05, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Richeson-Wichman and Atkins Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Covenant Lutheran Church, 103 South Church Street, Saint Paris, with Reverend Gerald Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Saint Paris. SMITH (nee Mobley), Deborah 52, of Huber Heights passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 after a courageous struggle with cancer. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her grandchildren very deeply. SMITH, Darwin Gene age 80 of Riverside died Saturday January 1, 2005 at Wright Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fairborn. He was born and raised in Sciotoville, Ohio by his parents, Searl Alma Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard Smith, Duard Leon Smith and Gail Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty and sons, Michael Smith of Huber Heights and Mark Smith of Fairborn. Darwin retired from the Dayton branch of the United States Postal Service after 38 years of employment.

A WWII Veteran, he served with the 8th Air Force. During his overseas tour he was stationed in England and completed 32 missions over Germany, flight engineer and gunner on a B-17 bomber. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the North Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Eaton. She had worked as a housekeeper in the Preble County area for a number of years and loved to play piano and sew.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother Jim 0'Bryant and sisters Avonelle Roach, Shirley Diffendal and Suzie Haun. Survived by husband Keith L. He knew from the moment he first saw her that she would become his wife, she did not! She worked Diamond Alkali Company in Cleveland until marriage February 15, 1958.

She did have a life before children. She volunteered tirelessly for various church and community organizations: past board member One More Soul, Dayton Right to Life, St. Anthony Pro-life (pro-life bus trip to Washington, D.C. every year, candy garage sale), St. Anthony Choir.

for over 20 years, Montgomery County Jail Ministries, St. de Sales to mention the countless hours volunteering for her children as chaperone, library, teacher aide, Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout help. She lived in the car with piano lessons, Irish dancing, horseback riding lessons, visiting the gravel loved her family and spending time with them and her grandchildren. She loved the New Year's Eve parties and banging pots at midnight and the movie The Wizard of Oz. We will miss her wit, humor and creativity.

Vera, Twice I saw you in a hospital room it hurt me to my heart, yet again you disappeared. I was bound determined to find you set the record straight.
