#leadershipcommunications #leadershipsupportWhen you have a loyal employee that you promote because of their loyalty and good work ethics, don't disrespect them by placing spies nearby to "evaluate" what they are doing. A good employee will remain loyal and honest with you. Value that honesty, and don't listen to rumors or poor feedback from others. Some people do not have good intentions when they give you "information " and may even have a hidden agenda.Simply ask for honest feedback from your employee and act accordingly. Too many companies fail because they take the words of new or bad employees over their best people.https://lnkd.in/g_jHu3RP

Can you paint a clear picture using words alone? Not everyone can, and most of us vary to the degree in which we're able to. In some walks of life this skill is critical, in others, not so much.Have you ever seen a colleague challenged because they didn't understand something correctly? This could be why.Awareness around #aphantasia helps employers get the best out of employees. It's also important we are self-aware of our ability in this area so that we can prevent miscommunication which could result in problems. So, what number image do you create when we describe:🐦 A bright Red bird🐦 Small in size - no bigger than a canary🐦 Black legs🐦A black tuft around the neck and beak🐦Spikey tuft of red hair on the head🐦Small little blue eyes🐦 And a short pointed red beak Try it with your colleagues or kids and see what picture they create. And be mindful when communicating because most of us skip details but expect others to read our minds. Adam Botterill at Equal Employer® what number did you get to when we did this experiment again?Let us know your numbers in the comments.#equalemployer #visual #understandingIf you would like to learn more the Cleveland Clinic have some great information.

It's rarely about just getting a headshot. If it was, I wouldn't get much business and people would simply post selfies or go to JCPenney or whatever. It is something deeper: the will to be taken seriously, the need to be authentic, evidence that you are not willing to slow down in your career, that you are not too young for the work nor too old and the list goes on.Essentially, the need to take control of how you are perceived. That's where I come in. Most people don't know how to impart this into their visual representation or have gotten headshots on the cheap in the past that didn't hit the mark.If you find yourself needing some control and want an amazing guide let's have a talk.

“Headshots” are in! Do you find this reflects my personality? I have always thought headshots lacked personality. As we move into a corporate atmosphere that encourages humour, freedom and personality I think that you headshot needs to reflect that. 🍻 to all the companies allowing your employees to flourish through a photo! I’m happy to say that crossing my arms, sitting on desks and laughing is ME. In addition, these shots reflect my organization. #headshots #corprate #culture

Do you think you have biases? Are you a great judge of character? This video made me think about the story I invent when I'm introduced to a new person. What is shaping what you see when you meet someone? How is your presence and reputation shaping what stories others invent about you? How might you influence others to see you in a new way? https://lnkd.in/gH2pfX9g

Does your appearance really matter on the job? Spoiler alert: It's more than you think.First impressions count, especially when you're in a business where trust matters. You might be a whiz at nailing joists or wiring a house, but if you show up looking like you rolled out of bed, that's all your client is gonna remember. 🎯Keeping a pro appearance isn't just about the clothes you wear, though. It's how you carry yourself—good posture, solid handshake, all that. Let's not forget the golden rule: treat everyone with respect. Trust us, your clients will notice, and they’ll be more likely to recommend you down the line. 🌟Got any go-to tips for making a killer first impression?
